Happy 60th Birthday, Grammy!

Abby's Grandma Levengood (Grammy) turned 60 on June 11th.  Unfortunately, we couldn't be at her party in NY because I can't travel at this point in my pregnancy.  However, she did get to sport the official Grammy gear and Skype in for gifts and cake. While singing "Happy Birthday"  Abby was blowing at the computer to try and blow out Grammy's candles :) 

Build a Bunny

On my birthday we took Abby to Build a Bear so that she could make a gift for Ellie.  I want Abby to have a present for her sister when she meets her, and we thought this would be more "personal" than just picking out a toy from the store.  I am pretty excited about it, because we had Abby record herself saying, "Ellie, I love you," and put it in the bunny's hand.  It is priceless!

 This was her second time at Build a Bear.  Her first experience was with her Grammy for her second birthday. The child has a great memory because she knew exactly what to do as soon as she stepped foot in the store.

Ellie will also have a present for Abby.  We are going to get her an interactive newborn doll that she will have to care for, so she can be like Mommy.

28 Years Blessed

 I have so much to be thankful for.

"Mommy hold you!"

So that pink semicircle.  That's my stomach...  This is my point of view.  Ahhh soon though, I will be able to see my feet!  In the meantime, this isn't too bad either. 

"Abby's shoes on. Outside!"

I don't think I need to explain the title, but that is Abby's way of asking to play outside.  After the LONG winter we had and the cold spring, we are outside as often as possible!  Here are some pictures of summer so far.

SPLASH PARK

I have learned not to even talk about the splash park unless we are going in the next ten minutes.  If I even bring it up, then that is all Abby will talk about!

A new obsession for Abby is flags. While driving around town, she will point out every flag we pass. "Look, Mommy, three flags." She is very good at spotting them! I am impressed that she'll always tell me how many there are as well.

MEMORIAL DAY

 One is the loneliest number...but soon she'll have a little friend sitting with her at the table!  Which is good, because it is such a cute little table.

Little Girl

There are two games Abby likes to play wrapped up in her blanket.  If she is up walking around, then she is our "little peasant girl."  Clearly, we came up with the name for that.  However, she came up with the second game.  She'll wrap herself up the same way but lay down and say, "Abby Mommy's tiny baby."  Then I'll scoop her up and she'll want me to rock her and sing to her.  With an ever busy and independent toddler, I LOVE that there are times when she allows me to cuddle and rock her.  "Tiny baby" is my favorite game of all time.

Good Girl Chart

To document and reward good behavior at our house, we started "Abby's Good Girl Chart".  Creative huh?  Basically whenever Abby does something good she gets to put a sticker on her posterboard and get praised.  I don't think I am going to do big rewards at the end; it is just a way to acknowledge the good behavior instead of always correcting the bad.  She likes it, and that is all that matters!
