Dance Party
It has been a nightly ritual at our house to have a dance party after dinner. Abby's favorite is Hall and Oates :)

Oh Dear
Abby has developed a new love in literature, Madeline. Which pleases her mother very much since Madeline was one of my all time favorites as a child. This week we rented "Madeline's Rescue" on DVD from the library, and she requests to watch "Adaline show" many times throughout the day. There is one part during the movie in which the twelve little girls' dog is missing and they cannot find her. They sing a very sad little song, and every time Abby makes an upset face and gets very sad for the girls. So empathetic.

"Potty Chair"
We are not officially potty training in our house yet. Abby still isn't showing all the signs of "readiness", however, we are getting her familiar with the POTTY CHAIR. My goal is to make this the easiest process as possible for both myself and Abby. She got a doll for Christmas from my parents that is potty training, so she has a little friend going through the experience with her. These shots were taken during Abby's first encounter with her special toilet.
She didn't care for the hole in the middle of this seat. It was the craziest thing to her! She preferred a regular stool, but she kept her eye on it just the same.
Maybe this will help get things moving!
We had a success! Proudly posed with her first welcomed potty outside of a diaper.
Her "throne" plays music when there is "action" in it, and it totally freaked Abby out when it happened.

State Museum
Each December Indianapolis has 16 days of Christmas in which local museums allow the public to visit for free. I was so excited to take Abby to the State Museum to ride the train to see Santa. My mom and I arrived downtown only to find that there was absolutely NO parking anywhere near the museum. We parked over a mile away and walked in the freezing cold to make it. Poor Abby was a good sport, but she started crying during the journey because her tiny little hands were icy cold.
Although the visit didn't start out very fun, we three girls had a good time warming up in the Ayers Tea Room for lunch. Abby gave Nina her thank you gift for watching her while I worked at the ROCK. Then we were off to the train. This made the entire ordeal worth it. Abby LOVED the train! Then instead of seeing Santa (since the line was very long and Abby is scared to death of him) we visited Mrs. Claus. It was a fantastic afternoon. However, next time I think it would be worth the price of admission to stay warm.
