Time for a story

I am obsessed with reading to Abby, and I really love revisiting my own childhood favorites. Books have a way of bringing back memories. Some of my favorites are Bread and Jam for Frances, Sylvester and the Magic Pebble, Madeline, One Morning in Maine, Corduroy, The Little Engine that Could, and Curious George. Abby and I have some new favorites as well including Susan Boynton's books (she got her first one from her Grammy). On this particular day we were off to half priced books in search of some great picture books.

All ready to go!

We found some!!

Adam stuck Abs in her Bumbo while he ran into the kitchen, and it looked like she was in a little time out. Of course she isn't really, but it was super cute!

"You sit there and think about what you did."

Squeals of JOY

Abigail recently discovered her lovely high pitched voice. Now the girl rolls all around the room (literally) screaming and blowing bubbles. Adorable.

Abby wins

It's official. I am now a stay at home mommy!! Last week I informed my principal that I would not be returning next year. I am sad to leave behind such a wonderful job. I truly enjoyed being a teacher, but Abby wins. His response and others from the school confirmed my true love of Heritage. He told me, "Good she should win. I have been hoping to hear that from you. Family always comes first." How cool is that?

I am so excited to be able to watch this little lady grow up!

Battle of the toys

I love to buy things for Abby. The other day she and I went to get her pictures taken, and because she was so good she got to go to the Disney Store. I know that she won't remember these little surprises, but I really can't help buying various books and toys for her. That day she got a new Nemo and a Minnie Mouse doll (it was buy one get one free). I just don't know how you can resist that sweet little face. When Adam came home from work and saw the shopping bags he acted like he was "upset" that we had spent more money. However, once I showed him how much she liked the toy he didn't care at all. That is how it usually goes down around here.

For a long time he resisted buying Abby this Baby Einstein play set. Now watch how cute she is in it, and guess who likes to play with her while she is in it!

4 month pictures

The first two are the ones that I purchased.

I like how her feet are crossed.

Shots by Deb.

She is so proud of that tongue of hers...

This shot was just for fun. That background is too blue for my taste.

Cereal!

Like most first time eaters, I think that most of the cereal ended up on her face instead of in her mouth. She did a good job though. We are very proud of our big girl.

Swing Swong

Silly Mommy!

The things we do to make our kids laugh....

Abby's friends!

Abby met a new friend this week, Halle. My friend Britney came to visit for the day with her 2 month old daughter. The girls had fun on the floor while the moms got to chat. Abby tried to impress Halle with her bubbles.

Jill Anderson was also over, but her baby, Jameson, wasn't able to play with the girls yet since he is still "cooking."

I am so fortunate to have numerous friends with children Abby's age. There are many more to come as well (Beth, Danielle, Barbie, and Jill). Here is Abby with her little friends...

Daisy lives across the street from us. She is going to have a little sister in a few weeks, and Abby and I are very excited to meet her! Daisy likes to look after Abby. She is very concerned with her well being and likes to mimic what Abby is doing. I love this little 2 year old and her mommy Barbie.

So here are my high school/college roommates and friends. Angie and her son Liam (middle) live in South Carolina and came up to Indy for a visit. Kristen and her son Ethan live across the street. Our three children are within three months of each other. Abby is 4 months, Liam is 5, and Ethan is 7 (though his due date was Abby's birthday).

Whoa boys! Not so fast!

Leah is the daughter of Lindsey a good friend of mine from high school and teaching at Heritage. Lindsey and I would talk about our pregnancy every day after work. Abby is 3 months older than Leah.

Abby is trying to hold her hand.

Ooops, don't roll over on your friends, Abs!

Christian is a friend from church. His mom Taya and I are both worried about the kids getting bug bites so we covered them over with the netting for protection. We first time mothers are very protective!

Father's Day

Daddy likes to make me make silly faces.

No one can make me laugh like he can!

Newport Aquarium

It appears that Abby is super interested in life under the sea. We were at the aquarium for three hours, and that girl didn't miss a thing. The proof is in the pics!

NEMO!

She really is a baby doll!

The doll and the outfit were purchased separately. Abby got the doll in the hospital from her great grandma Spivey and the outfit was a gift from my mom.

AHHH! Even the shoes matched!

Rolling from back to belly

The first time Abby did this it was quite the victory! Now she does it nonstop. This little girl wants to crawl with all her might. I think it will come very soon.

She got on her belly on her own, and she is very pleased with herself!
