"Halfy" Birthday, Ellie!

The first question out of Ellie's mouth when she woke up was, "Mommy, am I three and a half?!"

Why is she "crying" at the beginning?  She was told not to jump at the top of the stairs, and she thought she was in trouble.

I forgot to interview Abby at 5 1/2, so we did it yesterday.

Her Kindergarten book has a spot to write measurements for each season.

I document their height on our growth chart on birthdays and half birthdays.

Abby has learned to skip, and Ellie thinks she has learned to "zip" as well.

My humble attempt to make lunch look like a cat.

Daddy took the girls sledding.

"Mommy, can you get my picture with Ellie since I'm her big sister?"

The Fruit of the Spirit: Self Control

Sweet baby Abby used to be an avid thumb sucker, but when she was four she transitioned from sucking her thumb to biting her nails.  Her poor little fingertips were often raw and would bleed from all of the biting.  She knew it was something she needed to quit, and she did!  The determination and self-control of my five year old astounds me.  For the first time in over a year I had to cut her finger nails.

I'm very proud of Abby.
My baby is growing up into a lovely little girl.

Her very first time having painted finger nails!
Her new ring from G.G. looks lovely with her manicure.

Little painted her nails, too.  Hers are a little chipped, but still beautiful.
