 It got competitive.
Can you believe her uncle and aunt were trying to get her out?  On her birthday?  She just had to flash that sweet smile, and she was allowed to continue to play.

Mrs. Potts Tea set.  Winner Aunt Steph.

Adam got his birthday toy, too.  A helicopter from my parents.  We have another winner.
Abby's princess watch.  Love the sentimental gift, Nina and Papa!

Princess Show

Three Classic Fairy Tales for a special three year old's birthday!  The stories were Snow White, Cinderella, and Beauty and the Beast.  Lately Abby is obsessed with Beauty and the Beast and can quote and act out the entire movie.  No joke.  Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy were also there.  It was a dream come true for a little girl!

This little event had major obstacles. First, when I took a closer look at my tickets the Thursday leading up to the show, I noticed that they said, STUDENT ID REQUIRED.   Imagining us showing up on Saturday only to be turned away due to no student ID I searched the internet for a phone number to call.  This made me see that my worst fear had come true...next to our show, written in red, was the word CANCELED.  What?!  You have got to be kidding me?!  I had been talking to Abby about this show since November, it cannot be true.  Thankfully when I called the box office there was a second show that we could in fact transfer our tickets to.  Yes, please.

Leading up to Saturday Ellie and Abby were sick.  When I say sick, I mean SICK.  Poor Ellie had a high fever for days.  It was pathetic.  Thankfully Friday night both were starting to feel better, and we went out to celebrate my mom's birthday.  While at the restaurant, something came over me so suddenly I didn't know what hit me.  I had to go straight home only to be sick all night long.  The next morning (the morning of the show) I called my doctor, and she advised me to go to the ER.  Ummm...I would except I have a princess show that I must attend.  I am sure I sounded crazy to the doctor and the nurse.  So instead of going to the ER I put on my big girl pants, took a new antibiotic, and put a smile on my face.  We made the drive to Bloomington (I slept most of the way), and by the time we arrived I was feeling pretty good!  Praise be to God!

The Lord cares about the small things.  He made it so that we had a wonderful time celebrating with our little princess.

Happy Birthday, Mom!

Love her.
Look who is sitting like a big girl!

Ellie is Eight Months

Ellie at 8 months:
  • Says, "Mama, Mama, Mama" when she sees me
  • "Ab babababa" I truly believe she is saying Abby
  • "Dadadadada" when she sees Adam or if she is happy
  • Reaches for people (the first was for my mom)
  • Holds her own bottle
  • Has gotten somewhat mobile.  She rolls both ways now, and will roll to get toys.
  • Pivots around on stomach
  • Sits and plays for an extended time
  • looks for toys she has dropped
  • objects when items are taken away
  • transfers items from one hand to another
  • Still very go with the flow
  • loves music, reading, watching Curious George, textures, and remote controls
  • Her body has a negative reaction to oat and wheat and she does not like rice cereal....we're working on finding something for this girl to eat
Her personality is very sweet and playful.  Every passing month makes us love our sweet girl more and more.

Adam's 27th Birthday

Making Daddy's Cake
Abby really does help bake.  She is a great helper!

Especially when it comes to eating the batter...

 Surprise!
Abby decided she wanted to wait in the pantry when Adam got home from work.  She was super excited to surprise him.

  "Happy birthday, Daddy."

 Poor little Ellie was sick.

 Notice someone eyeing the cake?
 She got it.
Adam playing with his gift with the girl who spilled the beans before it was opened.

Grammy and Pa March Visit

Our latest visit with Adam's family was full of fun celebrations!  The extended weekend included a trip to the Children's Museum, Adam's birthday dinner (pictured below), shopping spree for Abby's birthday, and the usual shenanigans.  I can't say enough how grateful I am that my girls have four amazing grandparents who love them more than anything.  We love you Grammy and Pa, and can't wait to visit again!!
